OUR FOUNDER

At the age of 8 years old I had a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ in a local Baptist Church in Jackson, MI that would change my life. In a small Sunday School room in the basement of this church, I gave my heart to Jesus Christ.

From the ages of 11 until 19 years old I fell away from Christ, as I did not grow up in a Christian home. In those years, I struggled with many emotional issues, some due to being a bi-racial child in the 80's, witnessing physical and emotional abuse in the home, and being a product of a divorced family. By God's grace and mercy, he always found a way to put amazing spirit filled believers in my path during these teenage years. God used one particular family, The Atwoods, to reflect God's love to me and eventually help lead me back to Christ.

Finally at the age of 19 years old, after turning to drugs, alcohol, sex, relationships, and dropping out of college, I gave my life back to Christ in October 1997. Along the path, I've made my share of mistakes and bad choices, but God has never left my side through it all.

Shawn Richmond, the founder of Pneuma Outreach Ministries is a graduate of Valor Christian College (formerly known as World Harvest Bible College) with a Diploma in Evangelism. He was also a licensed minister under "The World Harvest Ministerial Fellowship" from 2003-2004. Throughout his many years of professing Christ, he has served in numerous church leadership volunteer roles and had many different responsibilities. Shawn brings over 20 years of combined Christian ministry leadership and volunteer experience.
